Lonestar Cell MTN through its mega promo initiative “MoMo Waysay-Wasa version 2” over the weekend gave away US$ 5,000 cash prizes and items to lucky customers and agents in several parts of Liberia. The raffle draw which was the second since the program was re-launched in June, took place at the Lonestar Cell MTN branch in Red Light, Paynesville, in the presence of representatives of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).

In his welcoming and overview remarks at the program, Bobby S. Lekpyee, Operations Manager of Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money told the gathering that it was a great day for Lonestar Cell MTN customers and agents. He said after the company had launched the Waysaywasa version 2, two weeks ago and conducted its first draw at the company’s central offices in Congo Town, with people from Montserrado, Nimba, and other counties winning cash prizes and items. It was another raffle draw for customers and agents to again walk away with cash prizes or items.

“That is what Lonestar Cell MTN MoMo Waysaywasa is all about. Anything you win from Lonestar MTN MoMo Waysaywasa 2 you don’t have to pay anything for it, because people will take advantage of this to call you and say you won a prize but before you receive it you should send money or your pin to them, don’t do it. You don’t pay for anything you win from Lonestar MTN. When you win from MoMo Waysaywasa we will call you on 0886500000”, Mr. Lekpyee warned.

In a brief remark, National Lottery Authority (NLA) Monitor, Odicious B. Massaquoi said the MoMo Waysaywasa campaign is so interesting that people continued to express their smiles, adding that the presence of the NLA is to make sure that the winners receive their prizes. He noted that the MoMo Waysaywasa is not about 419 and cautioned people to answer when they are called. “Please when you are selected answer your calls. Lonestar MTN does not want money from you, the only valuable thing you bring is your identification card to collect your prize.”

During the raffle draw held on Friday, July 8, 2022, 60 customers won cash prizes of USD$ 50 dollars each, with 10 customers from each of six selected counties including Montserrado, Bomi, Grand Gedeh, Cape Mount, Maryland, and Lofa counties totaling US$3,000. Besides, two customers in Montserrado County won smart 43′ TV sets each.

Additionally, five agents in Montserrado County won US$200 dollars each, while five agents in Nimba County won US$200 dollars each as well totaling US$2,000.

Customers and agents who won were immediately called by the Lonestar Cell MTN MoMo Waysaywasa campaign team. Some who lived in Paynesville and parts adjacent trooped to the Lonestar Cell MTN office in Red light in their jubilating mood to collect their prizes. Monica Gray, a resident of Outland Community in Paynesville (US$50), Mary Toe, a resident of Red light (US$50), and Eric Paye of Policy Academy (US$50). While Teewon Dahn of Paynesville was among two winners of the Hisense 43′ TV set who received his prize during the program.

Also as part of the MoMo Waysay-wasa campaign, James Y. Gobah Business Center among other agents who won in Montserrado and Nimba counties received US$200 dollars.

The customers and agents following receipt of their prizes, in separate remarks, expressed gratitude to Lonestar Cell MTN for the program, they said their selection came as a shock and said they are happy for their prizes. They encouraged others to take the MoMo Waysaywasa campaign seriously and transact using mobile money, saying anyone can become a winner. “At first, when I received the call I didn’t believe it but when I received it for the second time and you didn’t ask for money, I knew that it was true, that was how I rushed here,” said Teewon Dahn, winner of a smart TV set.

It may be recalled, that Lonestar Cell MTN re-launched its second mega promo life-changing program of amazing prizes for lucky customers and agents. The company named 3 Reno jeeps, a cash prize of USD$50 each to 1000 customers, USD$200 each to 150 agents, 20 bikes, and 9 kehkeh available for lucky winners. The campaign named and styled MoMo Waysay- Wasa version 2, Lonestar Cell MTN will conduct a raffle every week from now to the end of September 2022 and will contact winners to pick up their prizes.

The launch of the initiative which took place on the Jacob town pitch, Friday, June 24, 2022, brought together top Liberian artists and hundreds of others from far and near to grace the program. As part of the company’s commitment to give back to their subscribers and agents cash prizes, items, and many more, as they transact using mobile money.
