Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia People Democratic Party has expressed concerns about the governance process of the Joseph Nyuma Boakai administration, the political parties said, the gradual decline of Boakai administration to reconcile the country is worrisome.

The Boakai-Koung administration governing process, according to the LPDP, is creating tension and division in the country at a news conference on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

As the LPDP has pointed out, the country is still deeply split along political lines and torn apart by conflict, making reconciliation a national priority.

Acting Chairman of the LPDP voiced concern that a nation cannot continue without reconciliation during a news conference in Congo Town.

In order to find a way to bring the country and its citizens together, Mr. Hen stated that the party wants President Boakai to call a national reconciliation conference as soon as possible. This meeting according to him should include representatives from political parties, civil society organizations, and other interested parties.

The opposing community has made many criticisms including Liberia People’s Party political leader Cllr. Tiawon Gonglo, who called on the Boakai-Koung government to act in accordance with the law. Cllr. Gongloe has persisted in his battle against corruption in spite of the current administration’s attempts to combat corruption. with the latest call from the LPDP, a week ago, Former Liberian President George Manneh Weah, the political head of the Coalition for Democratic Change, was forced to express remorse for handing over power to the Unity Party-led administration after the coalition denounced the government on a number of grounds, including wrongful terminations and harassment by security personnel.

Due to doubts about the regime’s capacity to move forward correctly, the LPDP has emerged as the newest member of the opposition parties to call on the Unity Party government to work in favor of Liberians and not party line.
