I WILL RESIGN IF…….

Monrovia, Liberia – Jefferson Koijee, the Mayor of Monrovia City, has promised to step down if it is discovered that he was involved in the shipment of weapons to Liberia. The mayor of the city declared that he will step down from office if anyone prove that he used his office to smuggling weapons into Liberia.

Mayor Koijee made this statement in reaction to a recent accusation made against him by the owner of the Spoon Cooperation, Stanton Witherspoon, the City Police Director Thomas Gawo, and others that Koijee had imported firearms from the United States to Liberia.

He explains that the purpose of his most recent journey to the US was to push his counterpart to secure uniforms for the Monrovia city police, among other things.

In a related development, Thomas Garwo said he was coerced to lie that Mayor Koijee has imported arms and ammunition to the country for use by the Monrovia City Police. He made the statement yesterday, May 10, 2023, at the Monrovia City Hall at a press conference in Monrovia.

The Head of Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee Legal Team Cllr. Arthur Johnson has called on the U.S Government not to sanction the Mayor base on what he termed as false propaganda from Cllr. Jerome Verdier.
