MOE banned Ricks Institute and Haywood Mission three years each from writing WASSCE

The Minister of Educations has banned Ricks Institute and Haywood Mission for three years from writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination WASSCE for disrespecting the Ministry’s rules and regulations.

Making the disclosure Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the Ministry of Information press briefing in Monrovia, Education Minister Anu Sonii said Haywood Mission and Ricks Institute were found violating the Ministry’s policy that mandates all schools not to conduct graduation in the absence of WASSCE results.

According to Minister Sonni, the two schools’ 2020/2021 WASSCE results had been withheld by the government but will arrange for the students to access their results directly and individually from the WAEC office.

The education boss added that the results of Haywood Mission and Ricks Institute will not be placed on the Ministry’s website due to the blocking of the schools account and at the same warned private institutions not to charge United States dollars seventy five to hundred (USD$ 75.00-100.00) as graduation for 12 graders.

Prof. Sonni further indicated that the Ministry of Education will not tolerate those who want to undermine the working of the government particularly the Ministry of Education.
