Monrovia, Liberia – Six recently appointed ambassadors to Liberia submitted Letters of Credence to President Joseph N. Boakai as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts. The six include two on Thursday, February 19, 2026, and four on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, which confirmed boosting bilateral ties and expanding collaboration with nations throughout the world.
Following the ceremony the day before in which five ambassadors were similarly accredited, four more envoys submitted their credentials to President Boakai on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in the Executive Mansion’s Parlors.
The Ambassadors presenting their credentials on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 are, His Excellency Gaston Gakosso from the Republic of Congo, His Excellency Alberto Efrain Castelar Padilla from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, His Excellency Bambang Suharto from the Republic of Indonesia and His Excellency Martin Podstavek from the Slovak Republic.
Speaking on behalf of the Liberian government and people, President Boakai graciously greeted the distinguished envoys and accepted their Letters of Credence. President Boakai framed the events as a sign of increased diplomatic engagement and reaffirmed Liberia’s dedication to fostering solid alliances based on respect for one another, shared values, and joint advancements in peace, socioeconomic development, and international collaboration.
The Republic of Congo’s commitment to deepening bilateral relationships with Liberia through continued diplomatic cooperation was emphasized by Ambassador Gaston Gakosso during his speech. He specifically highlighted trade, commerce, investment potential, and economic resilience.
Ambassador Alberto Efrain Castelar Padilla reiterated his government’s willingness to collaborate closely for technical partnerships and sustainable development, and he expressed Venezuela’s desire to advance cooperation with Liberia in important areas such as energy, agriculture, education, health, and cultural exchange.
In order to increase capacity and strengthen bilateral cooperation, Indonesian Ambassador Bambang Suharto emphasized his government’s intention to support Liberia’s development priorities by promoting investment in vital sectors like infrastructure development, technical assistance, vocational training, palm oil production, and scholarship programs.
For the purpose to foster mutual economic growth and strengthen diplomatic connections, Ambassador Martin Podstavek emphasized the Slovak Republic’s interest in deepening its relationship with Liberia, especially through greater collaboration in commerce, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange.
President Boakai expressed optimism that the new envoys’ tenure will greatly expand partnerships in commerce, investment, education, security, and people-to-people engagement and assured them of Liberia’s complete support as they set off on their missions. As he sent his warmest regards, President Boakai expressed aspirations for the seven recently accredited ambassadors’ countries to continue to advance and prosper.
