Monrovia – The National Safety Partnership of Liberia has started a safety measures awareness campaign with school-age children in Montserrado County. The program aims to teach children about the security of their lives. The mission of the National Safety Partnership of Liberia is to increase road user compliance. This is a significant undertaking that calls for collaboration with the country’s well-meaning citizens.
The program, with the subject “Popcorn for Education,” began on January 26, 2023, at the Praise Foundation Day Care and Element School in Monrovia. Nelly P. Dean, the Academic Coordinator of the National Safety Partnership of Liberia (NASAPAL), serving as a lecturer for the program, said public safety, traffic safety, electronic safety, road safety, and neighborhood safety are fundamental concepts that students must comprehend.
According to Madam Dean, Mr. Philip Woods, a Liberian, founded the campaign in 2013 to educate young Liberians about the issue of safety. She cautioned the children to respect authorities, especially the police, pointing out that the police is to protect the lives of people and property.
“We are here to give you education on how to protect yourselves from a variety of dangers, including at home, neighborhood, on the road, and at school. Some of you just cross the road without looking left or right, but I know that you have understood a lot today.”
Erik B. Vincent, Jr., the principal of Praise Foundation Day Care and Element School, extended his gratitude to the representatives of the National Safety Partnership of Liberia. According to Mr. Vincent, he will make sure that his students apply every teaching that was given to them.
At the conclusion of the program, popcorn was distributed to all of the students.
