Ngafuan, Launches Five-Year Strategic Plan

“If We Don’t Perform, We Paralyze The Country”

Monrovia, Liberia – The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) has launched an ambitious five-year Strategic Plan (2026–2030), with Finance and Development Planning Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan declaring that the ministry’s performance will determine whether Liberia advances or falters.

Speaking Wednesday, March 4, 2027 at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Ngafuan delivered a sobering message about the weight of responsibility carried by the ministry, warning that failure within the country’s fiscal authority could have devastating national consequences.

“If national finance does not work, most likely it’s going to let the firm work. And if we don’t perform, we paralyze the firm. The consequences of actions and inactions are at the Ministry of Finance,” Ngafuan said.

The minister emphasized the human aspect of fiscal management in one of the most stunning parts of his speech, reminding employees that their work goes much beyond spreadsheets and budgets.
