The 2022 National Basketball 1st division championship continued on Sunday, August 7, at the SKD Basketball Gymnasium in Paynesville with two matches.
In the early kicked off, LPRC Oilers produced her first win in three matches in the big six components against the Invincible Eleven (IE) by 73-70 points.
They won the match in the last 15 seconds, scoring three points from Samuel Davidson’s effort to deny IE a fourth victory in four straight games.
Oilers lost the previous two matches against Bushord Bulls and Mighty Barrolle but winning against NPA Pythons and Cestos Mogars in their next two matches will qualify them for the big four categories.
In the late kickoff, inform Bushord Bulls continued her normal display against struggling Cestos Mogars as they recorded another victory by 65-52 points, with a 13-point margin to cement their place in the big four following four wins in five matches.
This defeat means Cestos Mogar’s chances of moving to the big four have officially come to an end after playing four matches without a single win. Their last match will be against NPA Pythons on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 6 PM. As they are called points donors, a win for Pythons will increase their hope of qualifying to the big four despite losing their previous three matches against IE, Barrolle, and Bushrod Bulls at the same stage.
The decider battle to determine who qualifies for the big four between NPA Pythons and LPRC Oilers will take place on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the same venue at 6 PM. A win for either of the side will see them qualify for the big four categories joining Barrolle, Bushrod Bulls, and IE.
On Sunday, August 14, 2022, will be the old traditional rivalry between the Rollers of Mighty Barrolle and the Yellow boys of IE at 7 PM to climax the big six components of the competition.
