Boakai Accepts Resignation Amid Integrity Push

Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has accepted the resignation of Cllr. Finley Karngar, the Chairman of Liberia’s Office of the Ombudsman, with immediate effect. The announcement was made Tuesday, March 10, 2026, by the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.

President Boakai thanked Cllr. Karngar in a brief statement for his service to the Republic of Liberia and his contributions to bolstering the Office of the Ombudsman’s work, especially in advancing moral standards in the public sector.

The President praised Karngar for his “dedication and commitment to public service during his tenure.” Additionally, Boakai wished the departing Ombudsman Chairman success in his future undertakings.

Nonetheless, the President reiterated his administration’s dedication to bolstering integrity institutions and promoting openness, responsibility, and moral behaviour at all levels of Liberian public service.
