Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) in Bong County has opened an investigation into the death of an unidentified person whose body was discovered inside a parked taxi on the premises of Phebe Hospital on Tuesday morning.
The discovery was made when hospital management called the Liberia National Police after facility security warned administrators about a bad smell emanating from the car. Authorities discovered a shirtless man’s corpse inside the car after a search. According to reports, one of the car’s doors was open, which raised the possibility that the guy got inside through it.
The wife of the car’s owner and the chief of security at Phebe Hospital have been named as people of interest by the police. Both are currently being questioned in connection with the death. According to Bong County Health Team Administrator Sam Siakor, the car is owned by Nyanquoi Urey, a hospital staffer who is presently in China, reports said. Siakor claims that before the corpse was discovered, the automobile had been parked on the hospital grounds for almost a week.
According to Siakor, the head of security called me on my way to work to report that flies were flying about one of our employees’ cars and requested me to check it out with him. Employees frequently leave their cars here while they travel.
According to him, the incidence is extremely rare and has raised concerns among medical staff. Siakor urged the police to fully investigate the man’s death’s causes. “It’s really weird, the police will conduct their investigation,” he remarked.
It is reported that the corpse has been sent to medical examiners for more examination, according to police, who are yet to release the deceased’s identification. Health officials are collaborating with the Liberia National Police Bong County unit to ascertain the man’s cause of death and how he got inside the car.
