Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph N. Boakai has given the National AIDS Commission (NAC) two brand-new pickup vehicles to help and enhance its nationwide operations after a successful fundraising event on Friday.
During a brief ceremony at the Commission’s offices in Monrovia, Madam Georgette Gray, Ex-Officio Member and President’s Representative to the NAC Board, formally handed the gift, which he had made in fulfillment of his commitment during the fundraising event, on behalf of the President.
President Boakai’s ongoing dedication to promoting national health goals and making sure the NAC is prepared to carry out its duty was communicated by Madam Gray. She underlined that the vehicles will immediately improve the Commission’s capacity to monitor HIV/AIDS interventions nationwide, contact communities, and carry out programs.
“This donation is a reflection of President Boakai’s leadership and his Government’s support to public health institutions doing essential work,” Madam Gray said, adding that President Boakai is aware of the crucial role logistics play in the national HIV response.
The National AIDS Commission Chairperson, Dr. Cecelia J. Nuta, accepted the donation and conveyed her sincere gratitude to President Boakai for the significant and timely gesture. She promised that the cars will be utilized to guarantee efficient service delivery, increase community outreach, and improve field coordination.
“As we strive to expand our nationwide response, these cars come at a critical moment. We appreciate President Boakai’s kind assistance and his reaffirmation of his faith in the Commission’s work. These cars will greatly increase our ability to operate,” Dr. Nuta stated.
With an emphasis on establishing robust institutions, increasing access to care, and making sure that no community is left behind in the national development agenda—the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development—the Boakai Administration is still making the health sector a top priority.
