For Dedication To Liberia’s Development
Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph N. Boakai has honored U.S Senator Jack Reed of Rhode island for his enduring support to Liberia. The Liberian leader spoke of Senator Reed’s commitment to the country and his crucial part in helping immigrants from Liberia settle in the US.
Speaking on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the United States of Liberia’s Provident, Rhode Island, President Boakai conveyed his profound appreciation for Senator Reed’s steadfast support, especially for his role in guiding the enactment of the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act of 2019 (H.R. 1169).
He said thousands of Liberians in the United States now have a road to permanent residence thanks to the important law, enabling them to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.

President Boakai emphasized Representative Diaz’s steadfast support of the Liberian people and her efforts to promote Liberian culture via educational programs in Rhode Island. The President also used the occasion to express gratitude for the long-standing partnership between Liberia and the US and to urge US allies to stand behind Liberia as it sets off on its path of national development.
The ARREST Agenda, which focuses on changes in agriculture, roads, the rule of law, education, sanitation & health, tourism & trade, and agriculture, was emphasized by the president.
He said that the future of the country still depends on the Liberian Diaspora and urged the community to keep supporting initiatives for peace, reconciliation, and sustainable development.
President Boakai declared, “Together, we are creating a better and more peaceful future for Liberia. We have risen from the ashes of conflict.”
President Boakai reaffirmed the importance of allies like Senator Reed, Representative Diaz, and the people of Rhode Island in helping Liberia fortify its democratic roots and move toward prosperity.
