Robertsports, Grand Cape Mount County – President George Manneh Weah has donated several household items, including food, to victims of sea erosion in Robertsports, Grand Cape Mount County. The items were donated through the Desister Management Agency.
Speaking on behalf of the Liberian Leader, Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf said, the president expressed his deepest regret for the incident. He noted that through the Minister of State, the president provided 490 bags of 25kg rice, 250 matteres, and other items including one million Liberian dollars to be given to victims,
The total number of displaced family heads who received the items was 350.
Minister Sirlaf stated that because the government is run by and for the people, the citizens of Capemount should support the Weah administration, ”LET PROMOTE POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT OUR COUNTY AND COUNTRY.”
To prevent further incidents, Bea Mountain Company has pledged to assist in fixing the affected region. In Robertsport City, Grand Cape Mount County, the management of Bea Mountain Mining Corporation expressed its sympathies for the flood victims.
The flood victims are now taking refuge in the Robertsport City Hall and nearby schools.
