President George Manneh Weah has issued a warning to all public officials to immediately cease exercising any powers, functions, or duties delegated to the President of Liberia and to act within their authority.
On Monday, April 18, 2022, President Weah issued a warning by voiding Nathaniel Bracewell’s termination letter as Deputy Director-General of the National Bureau of Concessions. DDG Bracewell’s immediate employer fired him because he had failed to deliver Monitoring and Evaluation reports from four Monitoring and Evaluation Exercises since May 2021.
Mr. Bracewell’s services at the institution were terminated for a four-month period of unexcused absence from October 2021 to January 2022, according to DG Dennis’s dismissal letter. Mr. Bracewell’s continued acts of unjustified verbal aggressiveness toward senior personnel was another reason for his deputy’s removal, according to the head of the Bureau of Concessions’ letter.
Mr. Edwin N. Dennis, Director-General of the National Bureau of Concessions, was accused by the Liberian Leader of acting arbitrarily and without regard for the President’s Office in terminating Mr. Bracewell’s services. The dismissal was declared cancelled by Mr. Weah.
As a result, Mr. Edwin N. Dennis has been suspended by President Weah. In Mr. Dennis’ absence, the National Bureau of Concessions will be led by the Deputy Director-General for Administration.
