Monrovia, Liberia – In line with his dedication to healthcare service, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai was spotted on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Sinkor with a few government representatives.
For patients who overstayed at the hospital because they couldn’t pay their expenses, the trip was a comfort. On behalf of patients who are unable to pay their bills, President Boakai gave a check to the hospital’s management during the tour.
“We want to make sure that we pay their bills because we have realized that there are patients who have not paid their bills. That is why we are here today to present this check.” The President also gave mothers of infants and children gifts while on a tour of the hospital.
The Liberian leader said that the donation is a gesture motivated by his dedication to enhancing the state of health and helping people in need. He toured every area of the hospital during the tour. “This is a gesture that motivated me to improve the situation and help those in need.”
In order to prevent Liberians from leaving the country in search of medical care, President Boakai continued, his government will do all in its power to upgrade the system.
He said that the doctors and hospital staff have a challenge to make the world a better place for every citizen. President Boakai praised the hospital’s administration for their high caliber of work while using the fewest resources possible.
“We went around, we looked, and there are things we saw that have committed us more to ensuring that JFK becomes that hospital for our people.” President Boakai also mentioned intentions to upgrade other referral hospitals around the nation in order to prevent JFK from becoming overburdened.
