Monrovia, Liberia – Representative Foday Fahnbulleh of Bong County District #7 has given Yarbaryah Town and Bong Mines L$2,500,000.00. The gesture is in responds to Rep. Fahnbullah’ s campaign promise and in response to the harsh reality of the USAID aid withdrawal in the county.
According to the District #7 lawmaker, the initiative will directly benefit street vendors, including young Yahna Boys, scratch card sellers, small banana traders, and other entrepreneurs. According to Rep. Foday, the gesture is intended to have an ongoing impact that promotes economic development and maintains livelihoods in the local community.
“More than 250 individuals received direct financial support to help strengthen their businesses, ranging from 10,000.00 to 25,000.00 Liberian dollars,” he added.
According to him, the contribution serves as a lifeline for many who have experienced financial strain due to the reduction of key external assistance to the country. “I remain committed to supporting initiatives that uplift my constituents and support our local economy as we continue to strive for sustainable economic empowerment,” Rep. Foday said.
The district’s beneficiaries praised the legislator for the gift, stating that business empowerment will assist the youth. “Those who will or have benefited can grow their business and greatly assist themselves and their family if they use the money wisely.”
At the same time, the beneficiaries have called on others to appreciate their leaders when they are making meaningful contributions and efforts in bettering the lives of the masses. “Thanks to Hon. Foday E. Fahnbulleh for fulfilling his pledge to us, other leaders could consider using their funds in a different way. In the future, your work will speak for you,” the beneficiaries praised their representative.
