SENATE COMMITS TO ESTABLISHMENT OF WORLD AND ECONOMIC CRIMES COURT

Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberian Senate has the Resolution to Establish War and Economics Crimes Court in Liberia.

According to our reporter, 28 members of the Liberian Senate including controversal Senator Prince Johnson of Nimba and Senator Thomas Yaya Nimely of Grand Gedeh Counties today, Tuesday April 9, 2924, signed a resolution to Establish War and Economic Crimes Court in the Liberia.

Senator Johnson and Nimely are both warlords mentioned in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission report for prosecution. The two, despite their records have gain massive support of their kinsmen to lead their various counties at the national Legislature.

The signing of the Resolution by both senators marks a historic move for a new Liberia where doers of crimes are willing to face justice and give victims justice through a legal process.

It is reported that Senator James Biney did not signed due to what he called proper legal order.

With the latest development, the upper has send the document to the lower house to continue the process leading to the establishment of the war and economic crimes court.
