The Nyonblee Karngar-Lawrence faction of the Liberty Party Chaired by Senator Steve Zargo declared all decisions reached a recent convention organized by the LP Musa Bility faction unconstitutional. Musa Bility and scores of his supporters also endorsed Alternative National Congress Political leader Alexander Cummings to head the ticket of the CPP in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
Senator Steve Zargo called on the public not to do business with the Musa Bility’s portion of the Liberty Party on grounds that the recent Nimba County convention was illegitimate and violated the Liberty Party’s constitution.
Senator Zargo addressing a news conference at the Liberty Party Montserrado chapter office also maintained that there was no genuine decision made at the LP January 2021 Gbranga convention, as such the convention is null and void and has no legal effect. Meanwhile, Senator Zargo has blamed the Co-Chair of NEC Teeplah Reeves for allegedly handing over to the LPs embattled Chairman Musa Bility a copy of an already withdrawn constitution which resulted in the recent convention that endorsed Mr. Cummings.
He described as illegal the alleged decision of the NEC’s co-chair to have given a copy of the already withdrawn documents to Mr. Bility and his cohorts without the knowledge of the political leader and other party’s stalwarts.
