Monrovia, Liberia – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa, has declared that he will ask the august body’s leadership for permission to form a Joint Committee with the Senate to conduct a thorough inquiry into the many claims made about budget changes.

Declaring, “We shouldn’t only be perceived as transparent, In order to encourage open governance, we must be completely transparent.” Speaker Koffa underlined the vital significance of transparency in governance.

He claimed that by taking this step, he is demonstrating his dedication to keeping the legislative process transparent and responsible to the people. The legislature is committed to fulfilling its public obligations and maintaining the highest levels of transparency under Speaker Koffa’s direction.

The proposed Joint Committee will have to look closely into the claims and make sure that any inconsistencies are dealt with honestly and clearly. The Speaker’s choice demonstrates a proactive strategy for building and preserving public trust in the legislative process.

The goal of the study is to strengthen the governance framework’s accountability and transparency principles, and it will be carried out with the highest diligence.
