Statement on Alleged Rape Incident  

Yekepa, Nimba County – ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is aware of the recent arrest of a contractor linked to our operations in relation to an alleged criminal incident in Ganta, Nimba County.

We maintain a zero‑tolerance stance toward any behaviour that violates or breaches the laws of Liberia. Allegations of this nature are treated with the highest level of seriousness.

We are actively engaging with the contracting company involved to ensure they fully adhere to our ethical standards, contractual requirements, and all applicable laws.

AML expects its contractors, and their employees, to uphold the same commitment to responsible conduct that the company demands from its own staff.

To preserve the integrity of the ongoing legal process and to protect the privacy of everyone involved, we are unable to provide further details at this time.

AML remains fully committed to cooperating with the relevant authorities as they conduct their investigation.
