World Bank approves USD$30 million concessional International Development Association credit for Rural Economic Transformation Projects in Liberia.

Monrovia- The World Bank has approved an additional USD$ 30 million under concessional International Development Association credit for Rural Economic Transformation Projects in Liberia. The USD$30 million is an Additional Financing agreement to the Rural Economic Transformation Project.

It falls within the International Development Association’s concessional financing program, which aims to increase smallholder farmers’ and agribusinesses’ productivity and market access for certain food value chains, particularly rice.

The finance arrangement, which comes from the IDA’s Crisis Response Window – Early Response Financing, will guarantee that the Liberia Rural Economic Transformation Project serves 36,000 more households, bringing the total number of beneficiary households up to 96,000, a 60% increase from 60,000.
