Monrovia, Liberia – Former vice president of Liberia and standard bearer of the major opposition political party (Unity Party) Joseph Nyuma Boakai donated USD$5,000 during the Lofa Night. Amb. Boakai as part of his contribution to the Lofa county sport committee promised to donate said amount which he delivered through check.

Amb. Boakai received recognition alongside other Lofa sons and daughters for their contributions to the County’s sporting and cultural events organized by the committee.

The 5000 USD is a portion of the monies that the Lofa County Sports steering committee is raising to pay off debts and launch early preparations for the following National County Sports Meet.

In order for the county to be prepared for the upcoming event and at the same time settle some of the financial liabilities that the steering committee is still required to settle, Momo T. Cyrus, the chairman of the steering committee, has urged other residents and friends of the county to honor their commitments.
