Buchanan, Grand Bassa – Through focused training programs intended to improve leadership, safety, and operational performance, ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is still making great progress in empowering its workforce. The company announced that 55 workers in Buchanan successfully concluded the 4D shopfloor management and 3D shopfloor enhancement programs.

The graduates, who were chosen from AML’s Rail, Port, and Mines divisions, underwent hands-on leadership training aimed at fostering dependability, responsibility, and quality in the workplace. The program is a component of the organization’s larger plan to improve frontline leadership and promote a safe, cooperative work environment throughout all divisions.
Continuing this trend, AML recently revealed that 66 additional Yekepa staff members, 66 supervisors and senior officers were officially certified under the 3D & 4D Shopfloor Enhancement and Management Program. Conor O’Brien, who spoke at the certification ceremony, emphasized that effective shopfloor leadership is essential to operational success and pushed participants to use their newly learned knowledge to quantifiable improvements in workplace safety, collaboration, and efficiency.
Cornor O’Brien, the chief financial officer, gave the recently certified executives a strong challenge: lead with action, integrity, and intention. He underlined the crucial role supervisors play in setting an example of safety, upholding standards, mentoring teams, and promoting ongoing development, pointing out that everyday choices and actions rather than position are what define leadership.
The accomplishment, which comes after a successful pilot program, highlights ArcelorMittal Liberia’s ongoing dedication to nurturing local talent, increasing staff capability, and bolstering leadership at all organizational levels.
The need of transforming education into real-world applications was emphasized by senior executives in attendance, who reiterated this idea. In order to create safer, more effective, and more accountable workplaces that adhere to ArcelorMittal Liberia’s operational and safety standards, they urged participants to put their newly acquired skills to use.
Participants responded by reaffirming their dedication to applying theory to practice and using their improved competencies to boost productivity, promote teamwork, and cultivate an excellence culture throughout operations.
