The son of President George Weah, Champ Weah, featured for Grand Kru County on Sunday in Group C of 2021, National County Sports meet against Bong County as they lost 1:0 in their opening match.
Group C matches are scheduled at the Sanniquelie Sports center in Nimba County. Champ Weah also called George Weah Jr. (born August 27, 1987) is a former professional soccer player who most recently played as a midfielder for La Chaux-de-Fonds.
He is the son of former Ballon d’Or winner and president of the Republic of Liberia George Weah. Born in Liberia, he capped the United States men’s national under-20 soccer team but has no international caps at senior level.
