CHIEF ZANZAN KAIWOR ORDERS All TRADITIONAL SCHOOLS ACROSS THE COUNTRY CLOSED

BUCHANAN- The Chairman of the National Council of chiefs and Elders of Liberia, Chief Zanzan Kaiwor has mandated all Sande and Poro practitioners to close all traditional schools across the country. Chief Kaiwor gives the mandate on Friday at a two-day stakeholders dialogue coordination, monitoring, and enforcement of the three years ban on traditional practices.

The dialogue which was organized by Women Initiative for Self Help took place on Friday at the Tepro lodge in the Dirt hole Community in Buchanan.

According to chief Kaiwor, his mandate is in line with the national policy document signed by all chiefs from 11 counties on the three years suspension of Sande activities.

The chief Stressed that the mandate is supported by the Assistant Minister of cultural affairs and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Varney Sirleaf.

He added that any Poro or Sande practitioner and traditional chiefs caught practicing during the census period and violating the policy document will be dealt with in accordance with the cultural norms and practices of the republic of Liberia.
