Congo Town, Liberia – The People’s Republic of China in Liberia has celebrated China’s National Day . On Friday, September 22, 2023, Diplomats, Liberian Government officials, Journalists and friends of China gathered at the Chinese Embassy in Congo Town to celebrate the Day.
Speaking at the occasion, FAN Erwei representing the Chinese embassy said, 74 years ago, the Communist Party of China (CPC) led the Chinese people to win national independence and liberation by fighting with no fear of sacrifice, no fear of fatigue, and eventually established a new China.
According to him, the past decades, the CPC has united and led the Chinese people to continuously explore the road of development in line with China’s national conditions, and has led China to make remarkable achievements in many fields, like economic and social development, scientific and technological innovation, and promotion of the people’s livelihood.
He added that Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC accomplished the historic tasks of poverty alleviation and realized the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, which has led to sweeping changes in Chinese society.
With hard work, today’s China has developed from being penniless at the beginning of the founding of the People’s Republic of China to becoming the world’s second largest economy, the biggest industrialized country, the largest trading country in goods, the country with the largest foreign exchange reserves, and the major trading partner of more than 140 countries and regions; it has developed from only being able to make tables and chairs, teapots and tea bowls, and grow rice at the beginning of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, to today’s most complete industrial system in the world, and leading the world in such technological fields as high-speed railway, 5G, and new energy vehicles.
Representing Liberia, Acting Foreign Affairs Minister, Cllr. Deweh E. Gray wished the People of China well in their celebrations and praised the People Republic of China for their successful bilateral ties with Liberia on behalf of President Weah and the Liberian people.
According to Cllr. Gray, China has supported Liberia in many areas after the civil conflict.She committed Liberia continues relationship with China.
