Presidential aspirant Cllr. Tiawon Gongloe says under his leadership the tempering of court cases or police investigation by sting Liberian leaders will be an impeachable offense if elected come 2023.

Cllr. Gogloe, the immediate past President of the Liberia National Bar Association accepted a petition in Nimba County over the weekend to contest the presidency on the ticket of the Liberian People Party (LPP).

Speaking on a local radio station in Monrovia on Monday, Cllr. Gongloe said he observed that most times the rule of law in Liberia including some court decisions are influenced by the President or other higher officials in the government.

The Liberian lawyer added that the country continues to retrogress due to the lack of law in the post-conflict nation. Cllr. Gongloe maintained that the application of the law has been selected for a prolonged period of time. He continued that article 11(c) of the 1986 Liberian constitution has been grossly violated, making it difficult for citizens of the low class to have their say in national issues.
