The Jorg Wolf Foundation through the New Apostolic Church has concluded a nationwide distribution of food items and non-food items valued at USD$4,741 to three Orphanage homes in Bong County.
The orphanages that benefited were: Palala Children’s Home, the Kollie Town Children Center, and the Daniel Town Children Center.
This was at the request of the Apostle Alexander Wreh of the Apostolic Church Liberia and support from donors in Germany.
It was geared towards complementing the efforts of the government to fight against hunger and poverty in the country, according to Apostle Wreh.
During one of the donation ceremonies held at the Palala Children’s Home witnessed dancing and singing by the orphan who came out in their numbers to welcome the team from the church led by Apostle Wreh.
Making his statement, Apostle Wreh, thanked the orphanage home for the warm welcome accorded them.
He explained that every year the church with funding from Jorg Wolf Foundation to Africa has been giving humanitarian gestures to less privileged communities, the aged and destitute children in orphanage homes across the country.
Apostle Wreh noted that the Church is not only limited to preaching the gospel but also helping poor people as Jesus Christ was doing. He said Jesus Christ was not only preaching the gospel but was also feeding the poor.
In separate remarks, the three orphanages thanked the Jorg Wolf Foundation and the church for choosing them to do their donations.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Palala Children Home, Mark Kaizer, the director said, the church is the first religious organization that has made such a valuable donation to them, especially at this time when it is raining.
Madam Oretha Okai, the caretaker of the Kollie Town Children Center appreciated the Jorg Wolf Foundation and the church for remembering them at this time of the rainy season when hunger is at their doorstep. She calls on other organizations to emulate the Jorg Wolf Foundation and the church.
