KOICA Alumni Association Donates to Health and other Institutions in Montserrado County.

Monrovia, Liberia – The KOICA Alumni Association of Liberia (KAAL) has donated food and non-food items to several institutions in Montserrado County in commemoration of the Republic of Korea’s Independence Day.

Over the weekend, KAAL presented rice, cooking oil, detergent, toiletries, and baby Pampers to the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Medical Center, Redemption Hospital, Monrovia Central Prison, the Benson Street Mosque, and the Oscar and Violet Stewart School of the Deaf and Dumb in Barnesville Kebbah Township.

According to Team Leader Amadu V.S. Kpan, who represented KAAL President Frederick Bobby Krah, the annual donation forms part of activities marking Korea Day, reflecting the group’s commitment to giving back to institutions in need. KAAL, which comprises Liberians who studied in South Korea through KOICA and other programs, also works to strengthen bilateral ties and share cultural experiences.

At the School of the Deaf and Dumb, administrator Marie Stewart thanked KAAL for the support, noting that the school had recently been burglarized, with student chairs stolen. She appealed for further assistance ahead of the September 2025 school semester.

Redemption Hospital’s Chief Administrator, Stephenie C. Gbanya, and Monrovia Central Prison Superintendent for Operations, Kolako Jackson K., Benson Street Mosque Chief Imam, and the JFK Accountant also lauded the gesture, assuring that the items will be used for their intended purposes.
