Liberia U17 National Women Team Receives Donations

Ahead of World Cup qualifiers match against Nigeria

Monrovia, Liberia – In anticipation of their forthcoming World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria, the Women’s U17 National team has received a $1,000 US donation from Liberian businessman Benoni Urey.

The team is currently sleeping at the George Weah Technical Center in Careysburg, where the contribution was made.

During his presentation on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Mr. Urey remarked that it’s fantastic to see young girls working together to better themselves rather than misusing alcohol or drugs.

He gave the squad credit and congrats for beating Senegal to move on to the next round of the qualifications, and he wished them luck in their next game.

Benita Urey, the President of Shiata Angels, promised an extra $1,000 US as a victory incentive for the first leg, which is set to take place on June 9, 2024, at the SKD Sports Complex.

The Urey family was thanked by Doco Wisseh, Technical Director of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), for their generosity and support of women’s football.
