Monrovia, Liberia – Jerolinmek Piah, Liberia’s Information Minister has made it clear that the government of Liberia has not come to a decision about the legal entry of any earthmoving machinery.
At the recently ended cabinet retreat in Monrovia, Mamaka Bility, Minister of States Without Portfolio, said that the Liberian government plans to import 285 earthmoving machines, 19 of which will be placed in each of the country’s 15 counties.
Minister Piah clarified, however, that the government has not complied with the regulations and agreements that must be followed before purchasing any earth moving equipment during the regular press briefing held by the Ministry of Information on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
The government spokesman emphasize that the Boakai-Koung regime will secure the equipment but it will be done in accordance with the law.
He assured the Liberian populace that equipment will not be made available until the national government had finished all required processes.
Minister Piah revealed that the Liberian people will be formally informed about the procedures involved in obtaining the equipment by the government in the next few days.
