Young Gunners Fought from 4-1 to Secure 4-4 Draw with Pepper FC

Monrovia, Liberia – In an exciting 4-4 draw with Pepper FC at the Tusa Sports Pitch on Monday, Young Gunners overcame a 4-1 setback in the Liberia Football Association Gardnersville Sub-Committee Third Division League.

Melvin Zah gave the young Gunners give an early lead in the game. But Pepper FC reacted swiftly, with Sheriff Donzo scoring a second goal after Julius Paye equalized the score. Pepper FC had a dominant 3-1 lead at the period thanks to Eugene Johnson’s subsequent extension of the lead.

After halftime, Jackson Massaqoui scored to make it 4-1, maintaining Pepper FC’s momentum. Pepper FC coach Fayiah Gborie made a number of substitutions with his team comfortably ahead, as if he was certain the game was already decided.

However, Young Gunners had different ideas. Assistant coach Mark Doe made significant tactical adjustments that changed the game’s course. The pivotal moment came with the arrival of offensive forward Mohammed Kamara.

On a one-year loan from Mighty Barrolle, Kamara made his debut and gave a fantastic performance. He set up two late assists after pulling one back in the 78th minute. In an incredible comeback, Samuel Nagbe and Emmanuel Jeson both scored to tie the score at 4-4.

In a debut effort that fundamentally altered the game, Kamara finished with one goal and two assists. In what is still a fiercely competitive division, Young Gunners are in third position and Pepper FC is still at 24 points despite the tie.
