Monrovia, Liberia – Representative Foday E. Fahnbulleh of Bong County District #7 fulfilled his campaign pledges on Sunday by giving 33 brand-new TVS motorcycles to the district’s youths. The community celebrated and applauded the donation ceremony, which took place in Bong Mines.

Representative Fahnbulleh stressed that the initiative’s goals were to empower the youth, promote economic independence, and improve transportation in the district.

“These bikes will strengthen the youth of the district and better enable them to support themselves while improving transportation for our people,” Fahnbulleh said at the event.

In Liberia, motorbikes are an essential form of mobility, particularly in rural regions like the districts of Fuamah and Sanoyea. They are crucial for economic activity and mobility in underdeveloped areas due to their cost and adaptability.

Fahnbulleh addressed the enthusiastic audience, saying, “I take my campaign promises very seriously, and I want to thank the youth of this district for what they did in supporting me during the elections.” “This is how I express my gratitude to each and every one of you.”

The politician then reaffirmed his dedication to youth empowerment on Facebook. “I made great progress today in keeping my campaign pledges to the motorcycle community,” he stated. “I gave thirty motorcycles to the young people in District #7 (Fuamah and Sanoyea) in an attempt to empower and encourage them as they explore chances for mobility and business. I intend to promote independence and an innovative spirit among the young people in our town by providing them with these motorcycles. FOF! Free! Free! Free!

Many young people rushed to the streets to celebrate the contribution, which was greeted with tremendous enthusiasm. Social media users shared images and videos of the beneficiaries joyfully riding their new motorcycles.

During the occasion, Junior Kayakollie, the district’s chief of the concerned motorcycle riders, conveyed his sincere gratitude to Fahnbulleh. “We would like to express our gratitude to our legislator today, as others have taken advantage of us and left us after they gained power,” Kayakollie said. We are ecstatic since no one else has done what you have done for us. You are our lifelong honor.

Beneficiary Alfred Cephas shared similar thoughts on Facebook. Hon. Fahnbulleh, thank you very much. District #7 residents are proud of you. Giving out thirty motorcycles for free is a difficult task. Without a doubt, God will repay you.

Youth empowerment and advocacy are nothing new to Representative Fahnbulleh. He is a longtime leader in civil society who has a history of opposing labor exploitation, especially at China Union, which runs a concession for open-pit mining in the area.

Fahnbulleh ran on a platform of youth empowerment and corporate responsibility for its responsibilities to impacted communities. Following his election, he immediately expressed concerns about the China Union’s disregard for its concession obligations, which prompted the House of Representatives to launch an investigation.

The inquiry discovered many infractions, and China Union was penalized appropriately. By mid-2024, the firm began completing its duties, including sponsoring scholarships, giving medical supplies to Bong Mines Hospital, and renovating community roadways as stated in its Mineral Development Agreement.

Representative Fahnbulleh was awarded by Haindii United Women on Saturday for what they called his “excellent leadership” in 2024. He received praise from the women’s group for his honesty, integrity, and commitment to the district’s advancement.

“Foday Fahnbulleh is a leader who exemplifies the values of good governance; he is young and humble,” the organization said. They commended him in particular for his capacity to hold large businesses responsible, solve long-standing community concerns, and fulfill commitments that have an immediate influence on his constituents’ lives.

The award was given in part because of Fahnbulleh’s efforts to make sure China Union fulfilled its responsibilities under the Mineral Development Agreement, which had a real positive impact on the district. The group also emphasized how his actions, such as the giving of the motorbike, demonstrate his attention to the concerns of women and adolescents.

In response to the recognition by the Haindii United Women, Representative Fahnbulleh expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of District #7.

“I am deeply humbled and honored by the recognition from you the Haindii United Women,” Fahnbulleh said in a statement. “This acknowledgment strengthens my resolve to continue advocating for the rights and development of our people, especially the youth and women who are the backbone of our community.”

He went on to say, “Leadership is about service, transparency, and accountability. I am committed to making sure that the voices of our people are heard and their needs are met. This honor is not just for me but for all of us who believe in building a better future for District #7.”

Fahnbulleh also stressed the value of working with community organizations like the Haindii United Women to promote sustainable development in the district, saying, “Together, we can achieve more.

” His actions are garnering him widespread praise throughout Fuamah-Saniyea, further solidifying his reputation as a leader committed to uplifting his community.
