Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph N. Boakai has charged the newly commissioned ambassadors to serve with commitment and integrity. During the commissioning event held at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, President Boakai urged the commissioned ambassadors to act as the nation’s spokespersons and mouthpieces in their respective roles.

President Boakai declared, “As ambassadors, you now have a greater task to seek for Liberia’s bid on the Security Council as a non-Permanent member.”

Being an ambassador is not a simple job, he said, adding that ambassadors’ representation of the nation will aid in Liberia’s development. He urged the commissioned ambassadors to serve the nation honestly.

“We are commissioning people to represent our nation today because we intend to build it for ourselves; no one else will do it for us,” he said.

According to the Liberian leader, no nation can surpass another if its people are committed to progressing for the sake of future generations. “When you take a public office, you are there for the Liberian people, not the President,” said President Boakai. He explained that Liberia has everything to make it develop if it is managed properly.

Ambassadors that were commissioned by the President include, Amb. Dr. Al-Hassan Conteh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the United States of America, Amb. Dr. Brahimna D. Kaba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the State of Kuwait, Hon. J. Levi Demmah Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Kingdom of Belgium, Hon. Joseph F. Johnson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Kingdom of Morocco.

Others are, Hon. Mohammed B. 0. S. Kenneth Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the State of Qatar, Hon. Ali Sylla Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Republic of Senegal, Hon. Forkpa Gizzie, Sr. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Republic of Guinea and Hon. Edward Wade Appleton Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to Japan.

Amb. Dr. Al-Hassan Conteh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the United States of America, spoke on behalf of the commissioned ambassadors and thanked President Boakai for entrusting them with the responsibility of representing the nation’s interests overseas.

He said, “I would also like to acknowledge the confirmation and support of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Chair and Members, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and her capable team, as well as friends, families, and well-wishers.”

Amb. Conteh clarified that they are humbled by President Boakai’s trust in them and promised they will make every effort to strengthen and deepen bilateral ties between Liberia and their respective host nations.

“We recognize the significance of our roles in promoting collaboration, comprehension, and respect among our countries,” he stated.

Ambassador Dr. Al-Hassan Conteh maintained that the event emphasizes how important diplomacy is to furthering Liberia’s objectives and promoting world peace and progress.

Additionally, he reiterated their dedication to maintaining the principles of diplomacy and providing distinguished service to Liberia in all of their assignments.
