Monrovia, Liberia – Former Chief of Protocol at the Executive Mansion Nora Finda Bundoo has been ordered released by the Supreme Court of Liberia. Madam Bundoo filed a writ of prohibition petition with the high court, challenging the Criminal Court “C” proceedings.
According to a formal statement issued by the Office of the Clerk of the Supreme Court dated July 22, 2026, Associate Justice Yussif D. Kaba, sitting in Chambers, referred Criminal Court “C” Judge Ousman F. Feika to a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. to discuss Bundoo’s petition.
Judge Ousman F. Feika is named as the first respondent in the petition, and the Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT), through its chairman Cllr. Edwin K. Martin and the Ministry of Justice are identified as the Second Respondents.
In the same judgment, the Supreme Court directed Judge Feika to release Bundoo to her attorneys, Cllr. M. Watkins Wright and Cllr. Abraham Wade Simpson, pending the outcome of the conference before Justice Kaba. However, the Court placed a condition on her release, requiring Madam Bundoo to give her passport to the Criminal Court “C” sheriff while the Supreme Court considers the case.
Following the denial of Bundoo’s second criminal appearance bond and the imposition of a US$8 million bond in the high-profile corruption case involving the alleged diversion and laundering of millions of dollars in public funds, the most recent development temporarily suspends the immediate effect of Criminal Court “C”‘s order that sent Madam Bundoo to the Monrovia Central Prison.
While the legitimacy of the lower court’s acts is being examined, Bundoo’s legal team is requesting that the Supreme Court forbid further execution of Judge Feika’s decision. It is anticipated that the conference on August 4 will decide whether the Supreme Court will grant the former chief of protocol at the Executive Mansion the requested writ or permit Criminal Court “C” to move on with the criminal case.
