Monrovia, Liberia – Aletha Amee Massaquoi, Women’s Football Manager at the Liberia Football Association, has returned to Liberia following her participation in the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in the United States.

With the theme “Mega Sporting Events and Economic Prosperity,” the program gave Massaquoi a thorough understanding of how the US uses sports as a driver for economic growth. During her involvement, she explored methods for upgrading infrastructure, promoting economic growth, and increasing opportunities for the private sector through successful public-private partnerships.
The IVLP, a premier professional exchange program run by the U.S. Department of State, unites emerging leaders from all over the world to exchange ideas, create connections, and obtain direct experience in important fields. Massaquoi’s involvement put her in the company of a small number of international experts researching cutting-edge strategies for sports administration and economic growth.

Her story demonstrates the increasing cooperation between Liberia and the US, especially in the fields of leadership and sports development. It also demonstrates a common dedication to using sports, particularly women’s football, as a platform for opportunity, empowerment, and national development.
With fresh perspectives and international recognition, Massaquoi is anticipated to make a substantial contribution to the development of women’s football in Liberia while encouraging long-term tactics that connect athletics with more general objectives for economic growth.
