Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Boakai has praised the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its dedication and exceptional service to the country in the wake of its remarkable accomplishment in 2025. The accolade was presented during the Presidential Performance Contract Signing and accolade Ceremony held at the EJS Ministerial Complex.
The Ministry was honored for its exceptional work under the leadership of the former Youth and Sports Minister Cllr. Bangalu Jeror Cole. As part of a Cabinet-level evaluation of government institutions, the Boakai administration awarded the prize to public enterprises that performed very well during the review period.
Under Bangalu leadership, the Ministry received full marks in a number of important categories, according to the Presidential Performance Contract Signing and Recognition report. The Ministry received 10 out of 10 for Resource Mobilisation, 5 out of 5 for System Efficiency, 10 out of 10 for Institutional Capacity Building, and 10 out of 10 for the Managerial Indicator Matrix.
The Ministry greatly exceeded its revenue generating objective, achieving an exceptional 267 percent, according to the report. Senior management meetings, which received a flawless score of 30 out of 30, were among the other performance metrics that surpassed expectations. Additionally, the Ministry’s performance in developing and implementing strategic plans received 42.83 out of 50, while service delivery attained an average compliance rate of 98 percent across all seven examined categories.
Henry B. Yonton Jr., Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, accepted the award on behalf of the Ministry. He expressed thanked and appreciation to President Boakai for the honor, and promised to continue serving the Liberian people. The acknowledgement demonstrates the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to support youth and sports development throughout Liberia.
