Nairobi, Kenya – President Joseph N. Boakai is in Nairobi, Kenya, attending the high-level Africa Forward 2026 Summit, a significant diplomatic event that is anticipated to change ties between France and Africa. Key African and European leaders convene for the two-day summit, which is funded by France and hosted by the Kenyan government, to discuss urgent geopolitical and economic issues throughout the continent.
President Boakai will participate in strategic discussions with Presidents William Ruto of Kenya, Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, and Emmanuel Macron of France during the summit. These discussions will focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation, increasing youth employment opportunities, Innovation and technology, Trade and investment, Energy transition, AI and digital transformation, infrastructure, andSustainable finance and reform of global financial systems. and advancing peace and stability throughout Africa.
The meeting is seen as a major strategic step that aims to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between African countries and Europe while redefining France’s role and influence on the continent. It is the first France–Africa summit hosted with an English-speaking African country, reflecting France’s effort to reshape relations with Africa beyond its traditional Francophone partners.
