Liberia U23 Deaf Football Delegation has safely arrived in Serbia

Belgrade, Serbia – The Liberia U23 Deaf Football Delegation arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, on Wednesday after a long journey from Abuja International Airport in Nigeria. They travelled through Istanbul, Turkey, on Turkish Airlines flights 0624 and 1079. The delegation is currently en route to Zlatibor, the location of the prestigious 2026 Serbia U23 Deaf Football Tournament.

The delegation is headed by Sheikh Hassan Kermokai of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and includes Octavius Vorkpor, President of the Liberia Deaf Sports Association; Secretary General Joseph Forkpa; Interpreter Joshua Kargar; Head Coach Briama Sesay; and OKFM Sports Desk Editor Sylvester Tamba.

Head coach Briama Sesay is expected to lead the team in its first recovery exercise after arriving in Zlatibor before Liberia’s rescheduled match against Great Britain on Friday. Liberia’s opening match against Poland has been postponed to a later date due to the team’s delayed arrival caused by the late issuance of Serbian visas in Nigeria.
