Monrovia, Liberia – After a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Grand Gedeh in the grand final on Sunday, at the SKD, Lofa County has been crowned winner the 2024/2025 National County Sports meet football category for the second time since the County’s founding in 1964.
Emmanuel Flomo’s early minutes opener and Francis Doe’s second half goals was enough as Lofa County put behind their last edition nightmare against Rivergee.
The Wologizi boys had every right to rejoice after a terrifying performance of Grand Gedeh’s tartical display. The Grand Gedeans produced the most goal-scoring opportunities and had the ball for the most of the game.

Daniel Moah missed a penalty but later scored the equalizer in the first half. However, based on the show of youthful talent, the match is in history as one of the most competitive and exciting county meet finals.
Winners Incorporated, one of the sponsors, had earlier stated that the football champions would get two million Liberian dollars, the runners-up would receive one million Liberian dollars, and the third-place winner would receive five hundred thousand Liberian dollars.
Margibi County won the 3rd place after 3-1 defeat against Maryland. Grand Bassa County was crowned Champions in the Kickball category with a of 5-1 home runs over Grand Kru in the final. Grand Gedeh County’s Nuch Zohn won the Young Player award.
