    Apologies To Veep Koung.

Monrovia, Liberia – Czar Mabulu Paly has apologized to Vice President Jeremiah Kpon Koung, the political leader of the Movement for Democratic Reconstruction (MDR), for what could be called a “inappropriate” tribute at the funeral of deceased Nimba County Senator Prince Y. Johnson, the Movement’s Youth Chairman.

Chairman Palay expressed regret in a written letter dated January 22, 2025, for the “inappropriate statement” he made at the late Senator Johnson’s funeral. He acknowledged that his remarks were disrespectful to the late political leader’s memory and the solemnity of the event.

“I hope this communication finds you in good health during what must be a trying period. I am writing to sincerely apologize for the offensive remarks I made at the recent funeral of our late PYJ, the chairman of the governing council. I acknowledge that my remarks were not only out of place but also extremely disrespectful to the memory of our late political leader and the solemnity of the event,” he said.

According to him, he has understood that a funeral is a time for mourning, remembrance, and unity; his remarks may be detracted from the gravity of the moment. The MDR Youth Chair explained that he never meant to upset or upset anyone, particularly the family of the late senator and the vice president.

In the letter, he expressed his deepest regard for the vice presidential position and the dignified behavior expected in such circumstances. “I acknowledge that my remarks might have come across as offensive, and I sincerely apologize for that,” Palay disclosed.

Chairman Palay has accepted responsibility for his conduct and acknowledged the significance of being considerate and courteous, especially at times of national sadness, as a result of the insensitive comment he made during the late Senate’s funeral.

He stated that he is determined to learn from the experience and that the incident has brought to light the need for more awareness and sensitivity in his communications.

“Permit me to offer you and everyone impacted by this tragedy my deepest sympathies. During this trying time, I really appreciate your understanding and your steadfast devotion to our country. I really regret my careless remarks once more, and I promise to try harder to be more courteous going forward,” he stated.
