National Disaster Management Agency Predicts Heavy Rainfall 2024

Warns Citizens to Brace themselves for more Devastating Floods and Windstorm

Monrovia, Liberia – The National Disaster Management Agency has issued a warning to all Liberians to prepare for more disastrous floods and windstorm calamities, citing excessive rainfall as expected in the country.

Many residents in Montserrado county, Paynesville, and other parts of the nation were impacted by Monday’s all-day downpour as a result of flooding that prompted some locals to evacuate their houses.

Ansu Dorley, the director of the Disaster Management Agency, stressed the need of disaster-prone areas taking preventative steps by referring to Monday’s flooding incidents as just the tip of the iceberg.

Director Dorley announced at a press conference on Tuesday that the Agency has started organizing assistance efforts for Monrovia and Paynesville residents affected by the flooding.
