Monrovia, Liberia – As Liberia embarks on a new chapter, President-elect Joseph N. Boakai has urged his fellow countrymen, both at home and abroad, to come together. Speaking at the Benson Street Central mosque, President-elect Boakai gave his Muslim brothers assurances that he would collaborate with the Muslim community in Liberia.
Amb. Boakai stated that while everyone has the right to practice their religion, religion shouldn’t be a dividing line in the nation. He also spoke out against the nation’s tribal division. The elected leader of Liberia claimed that as the nation is headed toward a new Liberia, all Liberians ought to unite and embrace the task of advancing their homeland.
In the new era, Amb. Boakai advocated for peace in the nation, particularly among Liberians. President-elect Boakai assured the populace that more foreigners and Liberians would migrate to the country. He urged Liberians to cooperate with foreign immigrants, as it is all in the best interest of the country.
The president-elect’s visit to the mosque is part of the inaugural program line-up for the transfer of political power from the CDC to the UP.
