Monrovia, Liberia – The development and execution of the African Continental Free Trade Area has been connected by Liberia’s Foreign Minister, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, to the continent’s overall progress. She also stressed the significance of South-South cooperation and reiterated Liberia’s commitment to strengthening ties with Ethiopia.
Minister Nyanti gave a report on her diplomatic visit to Ethiopia and commended Ethiopia’s outstanding technological and developmental improvements, especially the breakthroughs in data hosting, artificial intelligence, and youth-driven creativity displayed at the ICT Park. She highlighted Ethiopia’s expanding importance as a center for innovation and outsourcing, highlighting Africa’s capacity to compete on a global scale.
Minister Nyanti emphasized that facilitating travel between Ethiopia and Liberia will increase trade, draw in foreign investment, and provide jobs for young people while highlighting areas of collaboration like technology, agriculture, education, and trade.
The Minister considered Ethiopia and Liberia’s shared history as the only two non-colonial African nations and founding members of the Organization of African Unity. She reaffirmed that increased cooperation throughout the continent will unleash Africa’s growing population and set the region up for prosperity.
During her visit to Ethiopia’s Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center in Addis Ababa, Foreign Affairs Minister Madam Nyanti praised Ethiopia’s audacious leadership in technological advancement. She underlined the significance of cooperation in building Africa’s digital future and reiterated Liberia’s commitment to shared progress throughout the continent.
She called the AI Center a historic accomplishment for Ethiopia and all of Africa while speaking on behalf of Liberia’s delegation visiting Ethiopia. Ethiopia’s attempt to provide five million residents with basic digital literacy was praised by her, who described it as a progressive paradigm of inclusivity that guarantees no African is left behind in the digital age.
