VP Koung calls for equal service for Liberians

Burtain Town, Nimba County, – Liberia’s Vice President, Jeremiah Kpan Koung has called for an equal service for all Liberians as well as urging the legislators to serve all citizens impartially. Speaking Sunday, August 25, 2025 at a dedication ceremony of a projects led by Nimba County District #8 Representative Hon. Saye S. Mianah, Vice President Koung emphasized that elected officials’ responsibilities start on Election Day, advocating for service to every town and village in their districts.

He also praised the district representative for the effort and encouraged others to treat all citizens equally, regardless of their party affiliations. “I urge you to treat all citizens of your region equally because when you win an election, you become a leader for everyone,” Koung said.

Speaking as well, House Speaker Richard N. Koon commended the residents of Nimba District #8 for choosing Saye S. Mianah to represent them, highlighting the fact that selecting capable leaders produces favorable results. The Speaker said, “Liberia will develop faster if we elect good people in this country.”

Representative Mianah, for his part, announced a ten-bedroom guest home project in Burtain Town, Nimba District #8, and explained that the projects were keeping their campaign pledges. He revealed that his district has lost a number of people due to the Wollah bridge, which has been a major hindrance.

“I will always stand with my people and ensure development reaches all parts of District #8,” he declared.

The projects in Burtain Town include roads, a bridge, and the Burtain Peace Hall in District #8 of Nimba County.
