The Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas has presented thirteen (13) voice recorders to the Female Journalist Association of Liberia. The recorders were presented at the climax of a two-day capacity-building training organized by FEJAL and ALJA, with support from the British embassy.
Presenting the equipment on Thursday, December 23, 2021, ALJA representative in Liberia, Charles Crawford asserted that the recorders will enhance the works of rural female journalists who are challenged with access to equipment in the discharge of their reportorial duties.
The two-day capacity-building workshop brought together female journalists from eight of Liberia’s fifteen counties including Lofa, Nimba, Grand Cape Mount, Maryland, Margibi, Grand Kru, and Montserrado counties.
Receiving the audio voice recorders, FEJAL’s President Siatta Scott Johnson lauded ALJA for the donation. Meanwhile, the recorders were distributed amongst rural female journalists who had arrived in Monrovia to attend the FEJA and ALJA two-day workshop. ALJA has always contributed to the work of Journalism in Liberia, especially in providing technical pieces of equipment for media professional use.
