Anthony Deinuka Forcefully Rejects Allegations Linking Him to US$19 Million Cocaine Trafficking Case.

Reported by: Prince Saah

Monrovia, Liberia – Anthony Deinuka, a former employee at Roberts International Airport (RIA), has strongly refuted any connection to the current investigation into the purported US$19 million cocaine trafficking case, maintaining that he is neither a suspect nor a person of interest in the well-publicized investigation.

Deinuka said in a statement released on Monday, July 6, 2026, that no law enforcement agency has ever detained, questioned, invited, summoned, or contacted him in relation to the investigation. He added that reports linking him to the case were untrue, unfounded, and detrimental to his reputation.

“I wish to state clearly and without hesitation that I am not the subject of any criminal investigation,” Deinuka said, emphasizing that he has had no involvement whatsoever in the alleged drug shipment seized at Roberts International Airport.

The former airport worker stated that he quit his job at RIA in 2019 and hasn’t used any official power or duty there since. Furthermore, he contended that attempts to incriminate him based only on his previous employment are deceptive and unfounded.

Declaring that he has no criminal, financial, economic, operational, or improper ties to anyone connected to the case, Deinuka further rejected claims that he had any relationships with people named as persons of interest in the inquiry. In response to public conjecture on his relationship with Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Deinuka stated that images of him with the vice president shouldn’t be taken as proof of illegal activity.

He insisted that the ongoing investigation has nothing to do with his legal political support for the vice president. Deinuka reiterated his support and praised Vice President Koung’s request for an open investigation and rigorous adherence to the law, characterizing him as a leader who has inspired many Liberians.

He emphasized that anyone found guilty in the drug case should face the full force of the law and encouraged the public, government figures, and media to stop disseminating unsubstantiated accusations that could damage the reputations of innocent individuals. Deinuka further stated that he has reserved the right to take legal action against defamatory allegations and promised to fully cooperate with investigators should authorities need his help.
