Boakai Applauds  Cabinet and Security Forces National Efforts

Vows To Intensify Fight Against Drugs

Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph N. Boakai has urged his government, security forces, development partners, and other stakeholders to continue concentrating on discipline, collaboration, and national service while praising them for their contributions to Liberia’s progress. Speaking at the 23rd Cabinet meeting on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Executive Mansion, President Boakai thanked ministers and other public servants for their sacrifices, pointing out that their duties frequently call for large personal and family sacrifices.

Additionally, he commended officials and interested parties that helped make Liberia’s Independence celebrations a success, especially the county that hosted the national events. Boakai emphasized advancements in a number of areas, such as social services, education, road development, healthcare, and the prompt payment of government salaries.

The President advised government officials not to let criticism deter them and specifically praised Finance Minister Augustine K. Ngafuan and his staff for their efforts. He stressed that cooperation is still necessary to accomplish the goals of his administration and that no one person can change Liberia on their own.

President Boakai declared, “Teamwork is very important,” and urged ministers and other public servants to stay dedicated to their duties in spite of criticism. Additionally, the President urged cabinet ministers to show support for government initiatives and accomplishments by attending public events whenever feasible.

Boakai reiterated his administration’s commitment to fighting drug trafficking and safeguarding Liberia from the growing threat presented by narcotics, promising to step up the fight against drugs. He declared that Liberia would keep collaborating with its neighbors and outside allies to maintain its status as a secure and law-abiding nation.

The President did, however, issue a warning against letting intimidation or criticism thwart government initiatives, especially those meant to bolster national security. He explained, “We’re not stopping, stressing that the government would continue doing what is necessary in the interest of the country.”

Boakai stressed the significance of protecting Liberia’s borders and enhancing cooperation amongst security organizations working there. President Boakai maintained that government officials must rely on security personnel’s competence rather than making judgments based only on public pressure because they are disciplined and taught to understand their obligations.

Boakai called on public servants to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, self-control, and clarity while recognizing that those who transgress established norms would be dealt with appropriately. He remarked that as competent individuals must collaborate for good governance, the government must refrain from criticizing every employee in the administration.

Speaking, Boakai emphasized the value of partners’ gifts and development aid, pointing out that students and other vulnerable groups had received clothing, shoes, educational materials, and other necessities. According to him, the government must make sure that contributed resources reach the intended recipients and accurately record and assess the impact of such support on national growth.
