    Calls for Accountability in Education.

Monrovia, Liberia – A prominent legal expert and educator has called for a national shift in priorities, asking schools to embrace responsibility and students to embrace learning as Liberia continues to grapple with chronic educational deficiencies and economic issues.

Cllr. Bobby Livingstone gave an inspiring address during the 25th anniversary of Wisdom Community School in Monrovia, highlighting the importance of education in determining Liberia’s future. He conveyed a strong message to the students: “leadership in the future is determined by academic discipline now.”

“Readers are leaders, if you don’t learn today, you are not preparing to lead tomorrow,” he noted.

Due to long-standing issues with infrastructure, finance, and access to high-quality materials, Liberia’s education system has left many children unprepared for the demands of a cutthroat global market. As a result of these problems, which have been exacerbated by a history of political unrest and economic hardship, literacy rates are dropping, and worries about the nation’s human capital development are growing.

Livingstone, a fervent supporter of educational reform, urged self-evaluation among students and educational institutions. He asked lawmakers and educational institutions a crucial question: “What have we done right? What has to be fixed?

He called on Liberia’s educational institutions to give reform initiatives top priority, emphasizing both expanding educational access and raising educational standards.
