Koijee Commits Lasting Loyalty to Blue Revolution

DESPITE U.S. SENCTION

Monrovia, Liberia – The Mayor of Monrovia City, Koijee, declares his unwavering commitment to the blue revolution and his unwavering dedication to it, seemingly in response to the U.S. sanctions against him. Mayor Koijee expressed his dedication to serving the Liberian people and the coalition for Democratic Change, “blue revolution,” on his Facebook page, even in the face of the sanctions imposed against him.

The Office of Foreign Asset Control of the U.S. Department of Treasury has designated Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee for public corruption and human rights violations.

The Treasury Department claimed in a statement released on Friday, December 8, 2023, that Koijee has a history of inciting violence and exerts significant influence on the young people of Monrovia.

According to the statement, Koijee is in charge of CDC-affiliated paramilitary organisations that recruit newly released inmates and ex-combatants to carry out abuses at the mayor’s orders.
